I’m Married to A Woman Who’s a Playful Soul.

I went to bed last night and pretty much died on the spot, barely feeling Julia slip into bed next to me. A short while later… I was vaguely aware of what was happening between us, Julia having initiated a rather brief yet pleasant interlude. I then woke again this morning with Julia’s nose inches from my own as she laughed throatily at my confused look, her finally saying, “This is real. Yes.”

As she moved, she softly continued, “I’m real. You’re real. Everything that is happening around us is real too and we’ll get through that, together. I promise.”

Then, without warning, the woman jammed that exquisitely minty tongue of hers down my throat giggling as she did so. “I think my tonsils are clean now,” I choked out when she finally came up for air. Julia roared with laughter at that point and planting another deep breathtaking kiss on me, she quickened her pace as she then breathed in my ear, “Out with it Schnabel. Now. No holding back.”

A few minutes later, Julia rolled off me laughing and playfully said, “Good job. I knew you had it in you.”

She then added warmly as she gently brushed my hand away, “No. No worrying about me getting off. I’ve got all I want right here.”

Julia then pulled me closer to her so that my head was resting on her shoulder. “I’m good now,” she breathed. “Thank you.”

When we got moving today, I worked on my reality creation site while Julia did virtual therapy sessions with clients from her study. At least that’s what I thought she was doing all day.

I knew she was checking up on me from time to time between calls, occasionally standing silently in my study doorway while I worked. Then, at around 4:30 PM as I was wrapping up, I heard movement behind me and realized that Julia had come in and sat down on the couch.

When I turned in my chair to face her, she said softly, “You have a therapy appointment with a colleague of mine on Friday.”

When I looked at her questioningly, she continued quietly, “Your hands are shaking right now, your coordination at times sucks, and your appetite over the past few days has been crap. I suspect that you’ve been covering up that you’re having trouble managing those headaches of yours too. But… Just from what I can see… You aren’t doing well with all this.”

Julia tapped the couch next to her indicating she wanted me to sit with her as she said, “I’m too close to any of this to help you without dumping gasoline on the fire and it’s pretty clear to me you’re having trouble processing things.”

I sat down next to Julia saying as casually as I could, “I’m not arguing. But… Do you really want to ruin your colleague’s weekend? What did they do to piss you off?”

Julia laughed and squeezed my hand saying, “She’s actually a pretty nice person who’s volunteered to meet with you for as long as you need. Please? For me? Go see her?”

I nodded and Julia stretched up to kiss me saying, “Thank you. You can trust her Brian. Things will get better.”

She then put her arms around me saying, “God you’re tense. Breathe with me if you can. I promise I’m not going to let you fall. Just let go.”

The room spun for a few seconds as I started breathing more deeply and I did feel like I was in a state of free fall. But… lucky for me, Julia, like myself, is unusually strong for her build. And… Yeah… She made sure I didn’t go anywhere.

After a while, we shifted a bit, so we were more comfortable together laying on the couch, Julia insisting that she support me this time around. And… Before I knew it, I’d dropped off to sleep, Julia’s warm body having a rather relaxing effect on me.

I woke a short time later feeling calm and relaxed, not even having the knot in my stomach that I usually wake up with. Julia was resting peacefully behind me, her enjoying running her fingers through my hair. Realizing I was awake she said warmly, “Welcome back. Feel up to a light dinner out?”

When I nodded, she said teasingly, “Do you mind if I drive?” I chuckled and asked, “Has you driving me places ever been in question? I trust no one else more behind the wheel.”

Julia then lightly kissed my neck and said playfully, “Good. We’ll be taking the RAM then. It needs some exercise and… You know… I do love the feel of power in my vehicles as much as I do my man.”

As I stood up Julia took one look at me and started laughing and said, “Yes… I did say that and know exactly what you are thinking right now. Don’t even go there. You are more than strong enough for me. Even now.”

Julia then suddenly sprang from the couch through the doorway of the study saying, “Now get your ass outside Mr. I’m hungry!”

I don’t think the tires on that truck are ever going to be the same again. In fact, I’m thinking that we’ll be turning the truck in with new tires on it when the lease is up because Julia… Well… She’s a playful soul. But she’s also got a wicked sense of humor and a led foot to go along with that soul.
