I’m Appreciative of the Accessibility Features in Audacity.

It’s been a good day. And… You know? The weather wasn’t half bad either.

Julia and I both slept like logs last night and woke up, if you can believe, around eight o’clock this morning. But, after yesterday’s activities, we both kind of needed the rest. So, “It was all good!”

When we did get round, she got ready to head to her therapist. I walked into my study to do some more work with Audacity, putting together yet another podcast.

And… I got to tell you… there’s a few settings on there, other than fade in and fade out, that have really gotten to be my friends. What settings are those?

Why… Loudness normalization, Normalization, Noise reduction and Compressor. With this particular microphone, which I believe I’ve mentioned in the past is a Blue Yeti, it doesn’t seem like I have to deviate all that far from the default settings.

Now, I will grant you, I’ve still got a few quarks to work out with my editing, to save on time and things. I mean, it would be nice to be able to produce a five-minute recording that sounds totally awesome in under four hours from start to finish; writing the transcript, and getting it posted. But… Hey! You know? “Rome wasn’t built in a day!”

One of the things I really do appreciate about the good folks who created Audacity is the fact that they thought about us none mouse users. This program totally kicks ass with just keyboard commands, and it works well with JAWS for Windows and Narrator. So… Yeah… “Quite happy!”

There’s a lot of settings in here I’ve yet to delve into. I have no clue as to what they do. But I’m still learning and it’s a program that enables me to expand. So… “I’m totally down with that.”

When Julia came home from her session with her therapist we decided to head on over to Friendly’s for lunch. While we were there, we ran into our friend Ellen and her daughter, Jenifer.

Jenifer and mom seemed to have a few things to discuss, so we just kind of said hello in passing and cruised on to a table in the back corner there and had our own quiet meal.

When Jenifer left to head back to Succasunna, Ellen came over, sat down and talked with us for a few minutes. She mentioned that she had to go to Weis to pick up a few things and Julia said, “Well? Why don’t we all go over? We could use a few things ourselves”

I think we bought a little bit more than we planned to. But we had a good time shopping with Ellen in Weis. And… We got our car loaded up… And… Helped Ellen get her car loaded up… And everyone was on their merry way to their respective houses to put away their groceries.

And… Once we did that, we grabbed the Dodge and headed out to pick up the boat we had purchased a couple of weeks ago from the woman who wanted to get rid of it… I had talked about that in a previous blog post.

So… We got it hooked up to the Dodge and… Actually, I was kind of anticipating there might be some problems with the wiring harness. But whoever did the wiring on that trailer did a good job. Everything worked the way it was supposed to. You just plugged it in the socket. There were no problems. We didn’t have to get any adapters… Play any games… “It was plug and play and ready to rock and roll.”

And… When it comes to trailers… That’s rare. So… It worked out really well and we got it home with no problem.

We stuck it behind the garage for now, underneath a tarp and will start planning what we’re going to do with that to convert it from a rowboat into a sailboat. It should be a fun project.

We headed back out to Andover’s A&G Pizza and had a Sicilian pie. It was actually pretty good. It had pepperonis on it and we both love pepperoni pizza. So… Julia and I were quite happy.

The service there was excellent as always. Brian took care of us, and we even ran into Aubrey at one point. She came over to our table to say hello. The owner stopped by to say high, too, which is always cool. We hadn’t been there in a little while and they were just checking to make sure everything was ok, which is cool. We have just been busy, and they understood that.

After we left Andover A&G we headed back home for a quiet evening. We took a bath together and decided to read Clive Cussler’s, “Iceberg.” Julia really likes this series. She’s totally into it.

The only thing is it seems like Audible books put her to sleep. Actually, audio books in general seem to put her to sleep.

But… You know? It’s kind of cool and gives me a good excuse to carry her off into the bedroom, which I’m going to turn this off and do right now.
