Julia and I awoke this morning expecting everything to be one big mess outside. But… It really wasn’t all that bad. She had scheduled all the appointments that she’d normally have had in her office in town as virtual sessions. “Her clients were only too happy to go along with that plan.”
For my part? Well the rain doesn’t stop me from running my business. And… Even if the cable goes out, Optimum has a WIFI hotspot in our neighborhood we can use if need be. So… “It’s all good!”
We both had everything done we needed to by lunch time. So, after we ate, we listened to more of Clive Cussler’s book, “Pacific Vortex,” via Amazon Audible. “I’m really getting into this way more than I thought I would,” Julia told me at one point.
Then she saw the time and suggested we knock off for dinner. So… Checking the whether and traffic reports, we jumped in the Dodge and headed over to the Newton NJ Friendly’s. The drive was easy, even though the sidewalks looked like hell for anyone attempting to walk on them.
Once there, we were greeted by Frank, Briana, and Jeff, who all took turns waiting on us. We weren’t the only people there. But it seemed to be a slow night for them.
Then, having returned home without incident, we decided to take a long leisurely bath together, listening to more of the book while chilling in the tub with glasses of wine and the bottle nearby for refills. “Smart speakers are a beautiful thing!”
We should be able to finish the book over the weekend and Julia is already talking about listening to the second book in the Dirk Pitt series with me, too, “And I do like the sound of that!”
