I Am Highly Valuable to Everyone.

So… Here we are in bed at 4:00 AM in the morning; me just having woken up and enjoying the feel of Julia in my arms as she sleeps when the doorbell rings. She came out of her sound sleep swearing like a truck driver and I can’t say I blamed her. She didn’t even bother to grab a bathrobe as she sprang out of bed, grabbed the baseball bat and headed for the front door. As I followed her to the door all I could think was “Murder will be an interesting way to start the new work week!”

And who should my naked baseball bat wielding wife find on our doorstep? Well… I know I froze in shock when I heard a man say, “Good morning mam. Sorry to bother you but… Um… Uh… We’re with the CIA.”

Julia relaxed her grip on the bat and looked back at me saying, “You hear that honey? They’re with the Fucking CIA.” And with that Julia walked off back to the bedroom as I asked the two suits on my doorstep to step inside.

I had them take a seat in the living room as I too returned to the bedroom to put some clothes on. Julia was hanging on the edge of her dresser in a silent fit of laughter as she whispered, “You should have seen the look on that poor bastard’s face when I opened the door.” She then kissed me deeply and said, “Let’s go see what the United States Government wants from you this time. And… Maybe we can talk to them about learning how to read a Fucking clock?” She kissed me again before leading the way out of the bedroom.

As we entered the living room the agents began to speak, apologizing for bothering us at such an early hour and practically begging me to go with them for a short trip to a secure location where they could tell me what they needed my help with. The only thing they said they could say at the moment was, “It’s a matter of global importance.”

So… Off we went and after a time parked in a parking lot that I recognized as being a part of the old Fire Academy. As we got out of their car I commented, “You don’t get a more secure location than an underground bunker.”

The one agent said, “You know where we are then.” To which I replied, “Yes.” I then added, “Did anyone bother to bring coffee?”

I was assured that it was on its way with some other stuff as we accessed the building. And once we entered the bunker inside, they enlightened me as to why I was visited at such an early hour. I can’t really go into detail. But we’ll just say they needed me to remote view the location of someone they lost, who was running down a lead that could put an end to a major global problem affecting us all at the moment. They wanted to give me coordinates. But I advised against this, since there was a good chance the person they were looking for wasn’t there anymore.

When they asked me what I would use I asked, “What was he carrying by way of communication devices?”

They thought this was a strange question until I explained that I could very easily track someone via a phone number they usually answered, email account they used, or even the plate number of the car they were using. While we talked coffee arrived in the hands of another individual I knew well. But we’ll leave his name out of it so he can continue to have a normal life, “Without having to look over his shoulder any more than he already does.”

After we had coffee and chatted for a few minutes I was given an email address regularly accessed by the person they wanted me to remote view and locate. So… After I kicked everyone out of the bunker I got down to business. It didn’t take me long to find the person they were seeking the location of, and it was my turn to be amused with the two geniuses who had the balls to ring my doorbell so early in the morning.

“He’s not anywhere overseas,” I told them. “He’s right here in New Jersey looking for you.” In the stunned silence that followed my words, all I could think was, “Well Julia… You don’t need to see the look on these poor bastards faces to know what it is right now!”

“Do you have a meeting place you use in Newark?” One agent started in with the usual, “We don’t operate stateside,” line and I cut him off. “Save it,” I said and added, “Like you never ever end up out there only to find yourselves coming back here.” I got no response.

So… After intentionally letting the silence spiral for a good minute I said, “Go to your meeting place in Newark and wait for him there if he’s not waiting for you already.” I then chuckled and said, “I do think you have time to stop at Dunkin so I can grab a real coffee before returning home to Julia.” And with that… I led the way out the door.

We got back to the house around 11:00 AM and one of the agents spotted Julia sitting on the front porch. He commented, “No ball bat this time.” Then he asked, “What’s she like when she’s really pissed.” I just looked at him and smiled before getting out of the car.

Julia greeted me with a huge hug and very deep kiss before acknowledging the two agents with me. She was informed that I was a big help as a bank envelope was pressed into her hands by one of the suits as he said, “Enjoy your dinner out tonight mam. This should cover everything.”

Julia watched them leave before playfully saying, “You know honey? You’ve already earned about 7000 in five days’ time with your IT business. So… Maybe you should take the afternoon off?”

When I asked her what she had in mind…. Julia grinned and said, “Let’s see what’s in the envelope first before I decide.” With that she walked into the living room, opening the envelope as she went. As she looked down at its contents she froze.

“Honey? Are you about to take out a larger life insurance policy on me?” As these words left my lips Julia said, “No. But I’m pretty sure you could take the next month off without it hurting our budget.” Julia then said, “When you first came into my life, I knew you were special. But… My God… I think I may have underestimated just how special.” She then wrapped her arms around me and said, “Whatever secret thing you did for our government… Well… They must know you’re pretty damn special too.”

Julia then wordlessly walked me into our bedroom and… Uh… As they say… “The rest is history.”

AS luck would have it, Julia only had two clients in the morning. It really was a blissful afternoon and evening. And… While I can’t say I’ll ever get used to having Stromboli in bed… “It certainly was different!”

Just before slipping off to write this one more thing happened to cap off an entirely awesome time with Julia. A text turned up on my phone from an unknown number that said, “It was as you said. Thank you. We’ll be in touch again.”

Once I read it, I quickly took a screen shot of the text to show Julia in the morning. I transferred the screen shot quickly to a thumb drive to prevent that from disappearing too, just like the message did a few seconds after I read it. Yeah… “This psychic knows how to play the spy game, too.”

I can never share classified stuff with Julia. But I can show her a confirmation of success, even if she never knows what that success is.

I know that Julia could care less about the money these strange trips I take bring in. For her, it’s just an added excuse to exercise her high libido, which she herself tells me has drastically increased after we slept together for the first time. “She is sweet.”
