Julia and I awoke on her side of the bed in a tangle of limbs. The position was… Uh… Interesting to say the least. But it wasn’t uncomfortable or unpleasant for either of us!
She started laughing when she awoke and saw me staring at her. Then she gently disengaged herself from the tangle of us and kissed me lightly before saying playfully, “Good morning love. You look a little confused.”
In response I reached my arms around her as I moved to lay flat on my back and gently pulled her to me. “Dazed,” I said. “Definitely dazed.”
I must have dozed off again because I awoke to her kissing me deeply. And then… Well… Let’s just say that neither one of us wanted to get out of bed this morning. But once out of it, “Neither of us had anything to be unhappy about when reflecting upon what had happened while in it.”
While Julia was in the office today, I worked on reconfiguring servers a bit to better accommodate the plans I have for BrianSchnabel.com and BrianSchnabel.net. And, while I was at it, I figured it might be a good idea to pay off the credit card companies. “All the credit card companies.”
Yeah… When Julia got home, she was rather quiet over dinner. Then finally, with my best poker face on, I asked, “Everything ok?” She sighed heavily and said, “I got notifications that my card balances were all paid off today. But… They were all scheduled to be paid off next week.”
“Oh,” I said. She then continued, “I’m going to head into my study after dinner and see what’s going on there. I don’t have the money transferred into the account I use for paying off all that stuff yet so… I need to figure this out.”
So… After dinner she did just that, while I chilled in the living room listening to a few short podcasts and other things on YouTube. When Julia came out of her study she quietly came over and sat with me on the couch.
She didn’t say anything for the longest time. Then she snuggled up close to me and said just before kissing me, “You know Mr. Schnabel. You’re a real wiseass sometimes. You damn near gave a pretty girl a heart attack.”
“I take it that you figured out your financials?” I asked, still giving nothing away. She burst out laughing and said, “Yes! You paid my bills, for the business and everything and scared the living crap out of me doing it!”
She then asked, “What ever am I going to do with you?” “Oh,” I said. “I don’t know. But… I’m sure you’ll think of something.”
We hung together on the couch for a long time, just listening to music and the sounds of the house and surrounding area. It was peaceful and Julia fell asleep in my arms.
