I Am Appreciated for My Efforts at Levity During Dark Times.

I guess I woke up around 5:00 AM or so from a rather disturbing dream. It involved a group of kids that didn’t have any clothes on in a room a full-grown adult wouldn’t have enough room to lay down in. There seemed to be five children in there.

The stench was God awful when I opened the door. It was a short quick dream, ending with the children being walked into a shower by someone that was unseen. They were all handcuffed to a suitcase, walking with it in between them as a group.

When I awoke from this vision, my first thought was, “Don’t tell me Russia is going to use something either Biological or Nuclear on Ukraine?” But that is exactly what my gut feeling was when I awoke.

So… There I am… In my study… Before Sunrise… Writing this all out in my journal when I here from behind me… “Don’t you want to describe the room you found the children in? And… To go from the room to the shower, what was that like?”

“The room was pitch black,” I responded. There were no windows and they had clearly been locked in there. The room was part of a stone building. It reminded me of a very old prison and the shower they were headed into was along the lines of what you’d find in a locker room, with multiple showerheads. Everything was made of stone. It really was a dismal place, and I didn’t have a good feeling about any of it.

Julia stood quietly for a long moment, rubbing my shoulders before speaking. When she finally did, she asked softly, “What do you think was in the suitcase?”

I replied, “Nothing good. That’s all I know. But if it makes you feel any better… I recognized it as being Samsonite.”

Julia giggled softly as she leaned down to nuzzle my neck, speaking in my ear. “That’s my man,” she said. “Always trying to bring a little bit of levity, even to the things that clearly repulse him. God I love you.”

Julia straightened up again and asked in a more serious tone, “So your gut feeling upon waking was that the building represents Ukraine, the children are the citizens of Ukraine, and the suitcase is something that is going to be hoisted upon them or used on them?”

I nodded and she spun me around in my chair, kissing me full on the lips before saying, “Well… I don’t think there’s anything that you or I can do about that. But, despite this morning’s dream, I can promise you a much better day ahead.”

I nodded again and smiled saying, “Lead on.” And… With that… “We both walked out of my study together for a much much better day ahead.”
