I was shaken awake at 5:00 AM this morning. When I opened my eyes, I heard… “Come join a pretty girl for a sail?”
Julia was dressed already, and I could smell coffee. I sat up in bed and looked at her. She said softly, “I’ve been dreaming about sailing all night. Somehow, I’m thinking Lake Wallenpaupack is the place to be today.”
“You’re crazy,” I said. “But… I like it.”
As I got moving, thanking her for the coffee she handed me, I said, “I guess me taking a quick shower is out of the question?” She giggled and kissed me gently saying, “Go for it.”
Once showered, Julia insisted I check the boat over to make sure she didn’t miss anything in hooking it up to the truck. “Tiedowns are good, winch is locked, everything else is as it should be… Nice job with the chains by the way… We’re good to go.”
I thought it would be cool out on the water, but it wasn’t. The bright sun kept us quite toasty. We did the full length of the lake up and back in about six hours’ time. But… if it wasn’t for the moderate wind being behind us most of the way back down towards LedgeDale Marina, “I think it would have taken a lot longer!”
When we got back home, Julia kissed me and said, “Thank you for humoring a pretty girl today.” “I enjoyed it,” I answered. “As unplanned as it was… It was good.”
“Better than sex?” Julia teased. “Sex with you?” I countered. “Nothing will ever compare to that.”
“Oh yeah?” Julia giggled, kissing me lightly. “Yeah,” I said.
“Good,” Julia replied. “I’m going to go into my study to take care of a few things. I think you have a weekly review you wanted to do today, too. So, after we’re both done… How about you meet me in the bedroom and… Uh…” I got a deep passionate kiss from Julia this time before she said a little breathlessly, “We’ll talk about the first thing that comes up.”
So… That’s pretty much how the day ended and… You know… “It was an awesome way to cap things off!”
