I woke this morning to the sensation of hands rubbing my back. I lay there for a minute taking it all in when I heard the quiet voice of Julia saying playfully, “Good morning sunshine. The world you’ve been dead to says hello.”
I started to roll over when Julia gently pushed me back into position laughing. She kissed my shoulder saying, “It wasn’t a dig. We both work hard, and we play hard. It’s to be expected.”
“What time is it?” I asked, trying to jam my brain into gear. She giggled and said, “It’s 11:15 AM. But… You’re allowed. I’ve got coffee here for you, too. Just relax.”
When she finally let me up a minute later, satisfied that I wasn’t going to fly into a panic about the time, she handed me a big mug of hot coffee. “Thank you for this morning,” she said softly. “You made the most amazing love to me and… Well… You were wonderful. It was epic.”
I had to think for a second and she burst out laughing. “Have you gotten there yet? It was around 5:00 AM. Does that help?”
She then laughed again saying gently, “Give it a minute Baby. Drink some coffee. The world will come into focus soon. I promise you.”
I looked at her and smiled, “I’m remembering. It’s just taking the brain a minute to…”
Julia cut me off with a swift kiss and said in a rather breathless tone, “We don’t have anything to do today.” She then said in a warm loving tone, “I wouldn’t say no to another round of love making when you’re ready.”
It was then that I noticed that she was wearing a silk bathrobe and nothing underneath. I looked at her nodding and said, “You were quite hot this morning, too. I should be thanking you.” She smiled taking my hand and whispered, “Your love is thanks enough.”
