I Am Allowed to Be independent.

After getting up this morning and doing another week’s planning session together Julia and I decided to capitalize on the unexpectedly nice weather and walk to the Hampton Diner for a late lunch. It really was a nice walk, us leaving our house around 1:00 PM and getting there by 2:30 PM.

Waitress Julia took care of our table this time around and was rather surprised when I asked her for another menu. When she blurted out, “You can read those?” I simply smiled and held up my iPhone by way of response.

I took my time reading, liking the look of the Jak Daniels Chicken until I saw the price, which amused my Julia a bit. She gently took my hand from her side of the table and said lovingly, “You will never cease to amaze me. You can afford anything you want in a local Newton Restaurant, and you still make choices based on price.” She then gave my hand a squeeze and said quietly, “Although, I do agree that $19.95 does seem a little steep for that one, especially since it’s supposed to be on the weekend specials menu.”

I opted for the Meet Lover’s wrap instead. Julia said, “You know, I think I’ll have one of those, too.” They were certainly good-sized wraps, and we did work up an appetite walking.

Julia doesn’t take it personal when I use my phone to read the menu. It actually frees her up to focus on what she wants and doesn’t find it unusual that the blind guy is reading his own menu.

Other people who used to be in my life… Well… They just didn’t want to let things go. And… Yeah… For whatever reason… Uh… The concept of, “If I need your help, I’ll let you know,” was just lost on them.

Somehow, we got home way faster than we arrived at the diner, the walk only taking us an hour and twenty minutes on the return trip. So… yeah… We hit our own driveway at around 4:15 PM, or so.

We spent a little time on the phone with our friend Marilyn, who called as we were just getting in and she’s doing well. She was also quite pleased with the work I did on one of her computers recently; Marilyn also being one of my clients.

It sounds like Marilyn will be getting herself and her son a Shelty come August, which will definitely help them get outside more often. Apparently, they went to look at some that a breeder who Specializes in Shelties has and felt that that particular type of dog would be a good fit for their home and lifestyle. I thought that the breeder’s business name was pretty cool, too, it being, “Shamrock Shelties.”

After getting off the phone with Marilyn we decided to start reading Clive Cussler’s, “The Mediterranean Caper,” via Audible. Julia really seems to like the Dirk Pitt series as much as I do, if not perhaps a little more.

She’s in the bedroom right now changing the sheets on the bed. When I offered to help, she kissed me lightly and said, “Nope. You get your writing thing done while I do this. When you’re done, we’ll take a shower together. Ok?”

I nodded and gave her a quick hug before settling down to write this entry. But… A shower with her Sexiness is always a treat and it has been a full day. So… I think we’ll just leave it here for now. “Cheers!”
