“Babe? Why are you sitting out here? Are you ok?”
It was 4:30 AM when I found Julia on the front porch. As I moved closer, she reached out with her hands, taking mine in hers and said, “Listen.” It was then that I heard the owl hoot.
“Ok? But…” Julia then motioned with my hands in hers, indicating she wanted me to sit down. So… I sat.
Slipping an arm around my shoulders, Julia breathed in my ear, “I couldn’t sleep and at one point I saw that owl your hearing right outside our bedroom window. I’m surprised the noise didn’t wake you. He was loud.”
I felt Julia’s body shaking with silent laughter as she told me this and I couldn’t help but smile. We just sat listening to that owl until the sun began to rise.
Heading back into the house, we put coffee on and sat talking for a few minutes, Julia asking, “Are you up to putting a few new meditation sound tracks together for a client of mine? It’s not something that has to be done today. But… I figured that if you were up for doing that kind of thing again…”
I chuckled and said, “For a small fee, I might be able to work something out.” Julia moved closer to me saying, “Are the terms of payment nonnegotiable?” “Um… No. There’s room for negotiation,” I said with just a hint of a seductive tone in my voice. I then added, “After you’re done with your coffee… If you like… We can step into my second office to go over the terms.”
Julia giggled saying playfully, “You’re second office? Did you build an extension on to the house over night?”
I laughed quietly saying, “You’ll just have to come and see.” Julia suddenly downed her coffee in one and sprang to her feet saying throatily, “Show me then.”
“Right this way,” I said, taking her hand in mine and leading her into the guest bedroom. “Oh my…” Julia breathed. “You’ve been planning…”
I cut her off with a kiss and afterword… Well… Julia simply thrived. She loves scented candles and all things silk, realizing afterward that I had gotten a few things set up inside while she sat on the porch before I came to join her outside.
“That was amazing,” she whispered, hanging on to me, her body shaking with the intensity of the experience. “That inner knowing of yours… You… Well… You… Thank you.”
Julia then suddenly dropped off in my arms, both of us laying in a sea of pillows, silk sheets, and blankets complete with a soft fluffy comforter that I had found on Amazon. “I’d say the negotiations went well!”
