“Wow!” Julia said. “I had the coolest dream about sailing with you. I don’t know who the dog was though.”
“That was Shelby,” I said. “She was Seeing Eye Dog number two.”
Julia finished her exercises as I completed mine and came over to me, both of us breathing hard. She just stood there looking at me for a minute and then asked, “What color was the boat in the dream I had this morning?”
“It was a wooden boat, about thirty-six feet in length, with a black hull with natural pine planking on the deck. She had mahogany rails, and the cockpit area was done in teak wood,” I replied.
“Go on?” Julia encouraged. She wasn’t giving anything away just yet.
“It was around three in the afternoon and the sun was shining brightly over a tranquil blue ocean. I was steering and you were standing with me at the helm with an arm around my waist, The wind was blowing at a steady three knots,” I finished.
Julia then kissed me and said, “We had the same dream again. That is so very cool.”
We then headed to our respective studies to do some journaling and what not, reconnecting again in the bedroom for an impromptu pleasant twenty-minute tryst before hitting the shower around 7:00 AM. We just couldn’t keep our hands off each other whenever we were near one another all day. But… You know? “That’s just a beautiful thing.”
We did walk to our accountant’s office on Main Street here in Newton NJ at one point during the afternoon to drop off our tax returns. The walk felt great and only added to our sense of bliss.
When we returned home, we went back to our respective studies to wrap up the unfinished business we had left before calling it quits for the first workday of the week. Dinner was a quiet affair, me having cooked up a couple of steaks while Julia did her thing with the salad.
“Come join me in the tub?” Julia asked as we were cleaning up from dinner. “Sounds like a plan to me,” I responded.
So… That’s what took up most of the rest of the evening. We felt quite relaxed but more than ready for sleep when 9:30 PM rolled around.
Of course, you know how it is when you’re tired. You lay down and you just lay there, and nothing happens. “You’re still awake!”
But… Thankfully, being married to Julia, our chemistry leads to certain activities, which then lead to sleep coming our way once other natural body chemistry is activated. And… It certainly does lead to us falling asleep happy.
Julia’s got an amazing appetite for me and only me that I can never say no to. And it brings me a strong sense of peace knowing she feels the same way about me, too.
