“Up a bit before the alarm, aren’t we?” Julia asked quietly as I sat in my study writing. “Sleep just wasn’t happening for me,” I replied softly as I typed.
Julia then said, “Yeah… And dreaming about a quadruple homicide in all its glorious detail kind of kills the desire for sleep, too. Mix that with the extra sugar and caffeine we had yesterday and I’m sure it was quite a jolt.”
Julia then asked, “Case related?” I nodded saying, “I’ve got my answer to send our FBI friends. No more work required on this one, for sure.”
I then rose from my chair and put my arms around Julia as she stood behind me and said, “Sorry to have woke you up with this crap.” Julia kissed me lightly before replying, “You didn’t. I was having a restless night too. Really, it’s fine Babe.”
A minute later, it was 5:00 AM and we began doing our exercises together. After that, we hung out in my study, both of us doing journaling and some reading together before hitting the shower, Julia having fun making sure I was well washed.
“Please go back and sleep for a little while longer? You look like hell,” Julia said as we dried each other off after stepping out of the shower together. “I promise I won’t let you sleep all morning. I’ll come wake you up after my second session ends at 10:00 AM. I swear,” Julia finished as she gently steered me back toward the bed in the bedroom.
Julia certainly did wake me up at the appointed hour in only a manner that she would ever be able to bring off well. “I didn’t know nudity was required of a therapist conducting therapy sessions these days,” I commented.
Julia laughed warmly saying, “Only when the client in need of counseling is her husband.” And… After that… Well…
Updating the footers on a few websites that needed copyright dates changed manually was a breeze after that. A few more sights needed some posts added and I began getting an influx of emails requesting quotes for hosting and IT services.
Julia would stand in the doorway of my study between her virtual sessions and watch as I responded to email after email and I could swear she had a smirk on her face at one point as she said, “If only Ellen’s brother could see your inbox right now. He really was busting your balls about your Facebook videos yesterday. But if he only knew…”
Julia then lapsed into quiet laughter before disappearing into her own study again for another session. I smiled to myself as I put the finishing touches on the last email in the batch. Yeah… Ellen’s brother was busting my balls and I just let him ramble on knowing already that the videos were having their desired effect.
It’s kind of nice to be a household name on the internet these days, especially with the rest of the world seemingly having lost its marbles. The beauty part of the thing is that I’ve hardly done any videos that promote my business; simply talking about life with the occasional Windows 11, WordPress or Meditation hack thrown in. “The rest is simply magic!”
