I Am in Demand.

“You feel so good to me just laying here. I really don’t want to get up. But… I guess we have to, right?”

Those were the first lines of verbal communication my brain registered this morning. They were spoken by Julia, of course, and she was right. Just resting together feels damn good! “One could get addicted to that!”

It rained phone calls today. Not because clients had problems. Folks just wanted to check in and say, “Hi!”

Naturally, this meant that I didn’t get much work done for anyone else, let alone myself. But… “It was worth it!”

Around 12:00 PM I had a client call me, who lives on the west coast, to invite Julia and myself out to lunch with them. They were in Jersey visiting, and figured that if they could, they would meet the guy in person who has provided them with such excellent service over the years. Julia was working in town. But had an hour and a half until her next client showed. So… When she got my text, she swung by to pick me up.

“Where are we going?” Julia asked, giving my hand a squeeze as she drove. “Friendly’s,” I replied.

It was a pleasant lunch, my client arriving with his own wife just as we were pulling in. They both run their own separate business’s; him being a general contractor and his wife being a massage therapist. They clearly love the way their websites have been working for them. And… Yeah… They fell in love with Julia when they met her, too.

After lunch, Julia drove me back home. But before heading out she stopped and looked at me for a moment and then said, “I know you’ve got stuff you want to do. But I certainly wouldn’t hold it against you if you just cut to the essentials and then put your feet up for a while.”

I gave her the raised eyebrows look and she moved close to me. I could feel the intensity in her gaze. Then she gently drew me to her and kissed me once deeply before pulling back and saying, “It’s wearing on you. I can see it. You need to ease up.”

I nodded and she gave me a swift kiss before heading back to her office at our building here in Newton NJ for more couples counseling sessions. I did do quite an intense meditation session for a little over an hour when she left. Then, after that I looked over the servers to make sure all was running as it should before posting some pages to a couple of websites, as the information was of a time sensitive nature.

When she came home, she had brought some salads from Hayek’s Market for dinner. As we ate, she commented, “You look better.” I smiled and nodded in response.

After cleaning up from the meal… Well… It was a very slow moving and sensuous evening all through the house. “Need I say more?”
