Last night was one of those night’s where I found myself wide awake at 12:30 AM, having gone to bed early. Julia slept soundly next to me. Or maybe I should say, “I thought Julia was sleeping!”
But… As I moved to go get a Bluetooth keyboard and headphones, so I could run my office machine from the bedroom; enabling me to still be with Julia and make use of the time, a hand caught my arm in the darkness and a very sexy voice said softly, “You don’t need to do that. You’re Julia Sleep Aid and Headache Cure, all in one medication awaits. Use her.”
She laughed softly at my surprise and gave a gentle tug in her direction. “Now,” she said playfully. “Right now.” I could hear the smile in her voice. And… You know? I’m glad she’s one medication that is exclusively available to me. After about twenty sensational quiet yet toe curling minutes with her, “I went out like a light.”
At around 11:00 AM I heard a phone ringing off in the distance. It was Julia calling me from her office in town to see if I had gotten around yet. “You looked so peaceful when I got up this morning. I just couldn’t bring myself to disturb that peace. You’re allowed to sleep in you know. You do a lot for both of us.”
My wife is sweet. And… Yeah… I guess she’s got a point. I do tend to underrate what I do.
Today, I banged out another podcast and implemented the code for a Plugin Free WordPress Audio play list. “It worked like a champ!”
When Julia came home from work, she said, “A young woman walked up to me and handed this to me when I was getting in my car to come home.” She gently placed the envelope she’d been given in my hand asking, “Want to go to the Hampton Diner?”
“Sure,” I said. “Did the woman say anything else?”
Julia said, “Yeah. She said that you’ll know what it’s all about when you get around to turning on the news.”
So… I told Alexa to play the Fox News Briefing as we stood in the living room, me opening the envelope slowly as we listened. “The thwarted ISIS Terrorist attack was actually treated as a news alert!”
Julia looked at the check when I held it out to her and laughed. “My dear sweet love,” she said as she put her arms around me. “Can a pretty girl with a meager therapist’s income take her man out to dinner? I know you just earned another ten grand in your sleep. But I’d be honored.”
She then giggled and kissed me deeply before saying, “You can pay me back for dinner later in bed with your body when we come home.” And… You know? “I just couldn’t say know to that!”
