I’m Good at Turning Julia On.

It was another cool night. A little too cool and I faced a dilemma. Do I go see why the burner isn’t firing and forfeit the warmth and peace radiated by the beautiful creature sleeping next to me. Or… “Simply man up and go see what the deal is with the heat before said beautiful creature wakes up chilled to the bone!”

I went with the second option. It wasn’t anything major. For whatever reason, the heat was switched off. So… Yeah… It was an easy fix.

Blindness has definitely gifted me in one area of life for sure. “I’m good at turning things on!”

While Julia worked in her study doing virtual sessions with clients, I sat down to record a few more podcasts and began putting together a podcast page.

Nothing that contains the full transcript. Just a directory that contains the podcasts themselves and the short description found in the comments tag on each individual file I put together.

I wanted my podcasts to be a part of the website feed so that I can share the feed with people on my smartphone. With the podcasts I have up already, because they are imbedded in WordPress pages and not posts, they’re not picked up in the feed. But… I know how to fix that now. So, it won’t be a problem going forward.

It’s awesome how the solutions, if given time, will come to you if you don’t force them. In this particular instance, whenever I thought about the podcasting situation, I would see the site in my mind’s eye.

After a time, images of the site would start coming to me when I wasn’t focused on it. And… After a few days, I could see the site with the podcast directory as a part of it.

But it was even more than that. “That small quiet voice within started talking about how to manage it.”

Julia and I connected for a quick bite to eat in the kitchen and then each other. “Quickies are nice!”

Afterword, we both breathlessly got back to work. And… After our short little tryst together, the afternoon seemed to just fly by.

After work we had a light dinner and relaxed in the living room listening to music while curled up on the couch together under a blanket. I must have fallen asleep at one point because I could hear Julia speaking softly from what seemed like a land far away.

“Hey you. How about we move into the bedroom. I can’t carry you like you do me and I know you don’t like letting this pretty girl sleep alone, even if it’s just to go turn on the heat.” My eyes must have blinked or something upon hearing those words because Julia then laughed throatily yet softly and kissed me lightly before saying playfully, “Come on, you. I’ve got a switch in the bedroom I need you to flip.”
