I’m Loved by A Fearless Woman Named Julia.

I had a restless night, the bird on the fire escape at our Goldberg Realty owned Newtonian Gardens Apartment, where we decided to spend the night, waking me up twice by chirping right outside the open bedroom window. I thought that I was doing a good job of not waking Julia. However, when I returned from what was supposed to be a stealthy trip to the bathroom, “I got a bit of a surprise.”

As I walked around the bed, a hand gently grabbed my arm from behind. Julia giggled softly when I jumped and she said quietly, “This way.”

“I’m dead,” I muttered sleepily. “You got to be at the office in town early and…”

Julia said nothing as she silently steered me towards the love seat facing the small office that made up the other half of the bedroom. She then wordlessly indicated with her hands that I should sit.

Once I was seated, she then sat down next to me and gave me a deep gentle kiss before breathing in my ear, “It’s behind you. You aren’t beholden to the whims of HUD, SSA, or anyone at the New Jersey Department of community Affairs. You and I are thriving and will continue to do so. You’re in a safe place in life. We both are.”

Julia then pulled me into a deep embrace as I nodded and she whispered, “It’s all good and there’s more to come. I promise you. There really is more good to come.”

The moments after that felt so much more peaceful, a wave of calm sweeping through my body as she finished speaking. She then just sat with her arms around me, staring into my eyes for a long while before standing and pulling me with her back to bed.

Once under the covers… Well… I’m a bit fuzzy about what happened after that. But… When I woke at 8:00 AM to the sound of my phone ringing and announcing Julia’s office line on the ID, I felt a deep sense of connectedness to everything around me. That girl’s got a magic power all her own and, “I’m completely under her spell forever.”

I worked on Brian Schnabel’s Head Space for a while and then The Bria Sphere. I then took the time to do some light cleaning around the apartment before heading back to our house.

Once at home in the house, I took care of a few issues with the computer system at Julia’s office. I finished up just as Julia pulled into our driveway and texted me to lock up and come outside. She wouldn’t say why though but… “Given the hour…”

However, we didn’t go straight to dinner when Julia pulled out of the driveway, it only being around 4:30 PM. What Julia had in mind though would have made any park ranger blush if we’d have gotten caught in the act. But… There was no one else around on Sunrise Mountain and the scenery that this blind guy saw? Well… It was beautiful and awe inspiring to say the least. When we did finally make it to Jumboland for dinner, it was a quiet affair, Julia and I sitting close to each other at the table and holding hands as we ate. This hand holding continued all the way home, into the tub, and then finally into bed for a long peaceful night’s sleep.
