It was a still morning when we woke around 7:00 AM. And… Neither one of us being in a rush to do anything… Well… As Julia dozed off once more, I silently slipped out of bed. When Julia woke again, “She was thrilled to death with the room service.”
I do cook a mean French Toast if I do say so myself. And… Julia tells me my scrambled eggs and bacon aren’t bad either. Of course, I’ve yet to make my lady a cup of coffee she didn’t like, both of us preferring to drink it black.
After we did the breakfast in bed thing, we hit the shower and waited to see what Mother Nature had up her sleeve today. It was windy out and a bit on the cold side, too, and the snow seemed to be drifting more on the ground than what seemed to be floating down from above.
However, by 4:00 PM we decided we should get on with the snow removal and, once again having had the foresight to put the vehicles in the garage… Well… “Snow removal went quickly!”
After that, we called A&G Pizza and they were more than happy to deliver, throwing in a few extra mozzarella sticks with our Sicilian pepperoni pizza. “It really hit the spot!”
I thought the delivery guy was going to ask if he could use our bathroom to clean out his underwear when he realized what Julia had handed him for a tip. But… Once he got over the shock of it… He was on his merry way, in a much better mood then when he showed up. As we ate, I could hear Julia still giggling quietly to herself about the look on his face as he walked off our front porch.
At one point I looked at her smiling and asked, “I’m assuming the young man that just left here is still going to school?” She said, “Yes. He’s delivered to our office building a few times for us and I managed to sneak a picture of him once a while back. When I ran it through the internet like you showed me, I found out he was going to school for a degree in law. So… I figure his book costs for the next semester should be covered for him after tonight.” “Cool!” I exclaimed as I gave her leg a squeeze under the table. She looked at me and asked, “You’re not mad?” “No,” I laughed. “Why would I be upset about something like that?” I asked her.
She took a big gulp of her coffee and nervously said, “Because I took the money out of your wallet.” She then quickly followed up with, “But I’m going to hit the bank Monday morning so…”
I cut her off with a long passionate kiss and said, “It’s all good.” She sheepishly whispered, “Really?” I said laughing, “Really. It was priceless listening to his reaction. Besides, it’s not like we don’t have enough to do stuff like that now and again. So… Yeah… It’s fine.”
I really do think she was close to tears at that point. But… “They were the happy kind.”
After we cleaned up from dinner, I figured I’d come in here and write while Julia took a long hot well-deserved bath, complete with bubbles; me enjoying the fruity fragrance drifting through the house as I write this. She’s going to smell positively delicious tonight! “I wonder how she’ll taste?”
