“Wow! You are really getting good at that Babe,” I heard softly behind me as I sat at my desk playing the ESP Trainer game on my iPhone. “22 out of 24 in less than five games? That’s Awesome!”
I had awoken at 4:30 AM feeling like I should be doing something other than laying around wishing for sleep. I didn’t want to wake Julia up, her resting peacefully. I did just lay there for a good fifteen minutes or so listening to her slow deep breathing, losing myself in the sound. Then I finally slipped out of bed, making a pitstop in the bathroom before turning on the coffee pot in the kitchen.
I then headed into my study and checked the status of a few websites that seemed to have attracted the attention of some Russian hackers. But… So far so good. They must have decided that my clients weren’t worth the aggravation and finally moved on… Uh… At least for now.
As I was checking the last site, I could hear the coffee pot finishing up. So… When I completed my survey of server records, I walked into the kitchen and grabbed me a cup.
Then I sat down at my desk again and started playing with the ESP Trainer game. It’s interesting to me that I can see the colors in my head before clicking the corresponding machine selected color, which it does randomly, and actually get it write.
At times though, the sense in my hand is different from what I see in my head. But if I go with that feeling in my hand when the discrepancy arises… Well… It just works.
It’s almost like I’m getting input from two different channels. I get the sense here that the lesson is, “Body sense is more reliable than brain sense.”
How long were you sitting their Babe? I asked. Julia giggled and said, “You walked right past me on your way back from the kitchen. How are the sites?”
“It would seem that the Russians have finally moved on,” I responded. She then stood and walked up behind me saying, “I feel sorry for the hacker that trashes your work. They don’t stand a chance of getting away with it no matter where they are on the globe.”
She then leaned down and said softly in my ear. “Come back to bed with me? I promise I’ll make it worth your while.”
“You are always worth my time,” I said gently as I rose to follow her. “Never forget that.”
Uh… You know? I can’t really speak for other married couples… But I’m pretty certain that heaven on earth exists on a mattress in this house. She is a voracious lover who has an incredible ability to read me like an open book. Somehow, she knows what I’m thinking and wanting, if not needing; delivering it times ten with a confidence that just makes our experiences together that much more enjoyable.
When we finally got out of bed Julia got ready to visit her therapist at 10:00 AM. She kissed me leaving saying, “After this morning… I’m not really sure I need the session but… It does help me to keep my license.”
“I’m really that good, ha?” I asked. She giggled saying, “No. You only could cure a woman’s cancer by making love to her. So… No. You’re not good at all. You’re awesome!”
As I listened to the sound of her pulling her car out of the driveway, I walked back into the study and began working on updating a few items on BrianSchnabel.com. I keep a running book list by author on the site whose material I have found useful. It does need to be worked over a bit and I figure that while things are slow… Now would be a good time to do that.
I heard Julia come back home a little over an hour and a half later and then… I felt this gorgeous angel nuzzling my neck. “Hello my love,” she breathed in my ear. “I’ve come to take you away,” she then paused and added with a slight laugh, “For lunch.”
As it turned out, she’d grabbed a few things for us from Andover A&G Pizza on her way back from the therapist’s office. She then said, “It’s raining out right now. But… If you’re not busy when it lets up… Want to go on a safari on foot with a pretty girl?”
“Only if you’ll play tore guide and show me the sites,” I replied smiling. She laughed and said, “You’re a bad boy Brian. But… I do love the way you think.” She then came over and kissed me deeply before clearing off the table.
We did get that walk in, me actually feeling a push from the great beyond to go find her. She was in her study reading a journal when I nocked on her door and said, “I’m thinking it’s safari time.”
“I quite agree,” she said standing up. Just let me slip my sneakers on and we can go.
And… Feeling another push from the great beyond… I suggested we walk to Friendly’s. It turned out to be a free meal, the manager refusing to tell us who had paid for it. “God is good.”
When we returned home, we could hear the delicate sounds of thunder off in the distance. “It’s so magical being out on days like this with you,” Julia said. “It’s incredible how you just seem to have a sense of when we should move… Where we should go… I wish I knew how to do that.,” she said before kissing me as I unlocked the front door to our house.
Some say that one should never engage in any kind of sexual activity during thunderstorms. But… Even some forms of ancient wisdom have turned out to be bullshit. And… Right now… Julia is sleeping peacefully once again.
To be honest… I am looking forward to joining her as I hear the sounds of another storm rolling in. “It has been an awesomely full day!”
