I Am Getting Better and Better at Everything I Do.

There are days when Julia and I are both eternally grateful that we can work from home if we want to. And… Today was definitely one of those days.

Yeah… It was only twenty-six degrees outside. But with the wind chill it felt a lot colder. It kind of got to both of us as we stepped outside to pick up mail and packages as they arrived.

Julia dropped in on me at one point, as I was editing a podcast I had put together, and she had commented, “You know? You make that look so easy.” I just laughed because I was like, “Well… I guess to some extent. But… You haven’t heard it yet so… If I was you, I would withhold judgement until such time.”

She laughed and kissed me lightly on the lips before saying, “Well… Most of the stuff you produce is quality and you’ve got to start somewhere. And you do have a habit of tending to be like fine wine. You just keep getting better and better at everything you do. So… I’m sure that whatever it is you’re working on right now… It will be brilliant.”

I leaned back in my chair, stretching my arms over my head at that point. I traced the outline of her breasts with one finger as I said, “Thanks for the vote of confidence babe. But I’ve got a feeling this one’s going to be far from brilliant.”

To which she responded, “Nonsense. I’m sure it will be fine.” And… With that… She walked out of my study and off to log on to another virtual therapy session with a client.

The day progressed like this; me working on my podcasting thing and her doing her sessions with clients. Every so often she’d stop in at the door to check in and see what I was up to.

It was just a nice relaxing leisurely workday. And… After all the action last night… Well… We were both in agreement that the weather was a perfect excuse to stay inside and chill.

No pun intended, of course. “We had heat!” And… “Each other!”

Once I got my podcast edited and online, I began doing some research on Windows 11; Finding out how I could set up an FTP drive direct to my podcast folder from within the networking section of Windows 11. It’s a pretty straight forward process and I didn’t have any problem figuring it out.

Unfortunately, it would seem that you cannot add drive letters to an FTP drive. But That’s why God invented shortcuts that you can pin to the start menu, put on your desktop, and other places.

And… If I really want to … I could add the shortcut to the “Send To” menu you access via right clicking on a file. But “I don’t think I’m quite there yet!”

So… For now? “It’s all good!”

It should probably be noted here that after I got my podcast all edited and uploaded with the written transcript to the WordPress blog I was working on, I did notice one strange anomaly. For whatever reason, even when the podcast is playing, I’m picking up a message that says, “Unable to load media.” I did some research on it and I’m pretty certain it’s not a visual thing.

In fact, when I checked the source code of the webpage, it wasn’t showing any text to that effect, either. So… I’m thinking it’s just something that the screen readers are picking up.

With all the people that come to my websites, nobody has ever said anything to me about such a message showing up on their screen while listening to any of the audio files I’ve ever posted. So, I’m just going to have to chalk this one up to JAWS for Windows being JAWS for Windows, Narrator being Narrator, and WordPress being WordPress.

I’m certainly not going to trouble myself enough to lose any sleep over it because the audios play. And… Sometimes… They even play automatically Depending on which browser you use.

“And…” For the record, if you have an audio file set to play automatically when it loads with a web page, it will work with edge. It will not work in Firefox, and it will not work in Safari. With Firefox and Safari, you have to press the button if you want to hear anything.

But maybe that’s not such a bad thing because I’m not a hundred percent sure that setting up my podcast to automatically start playing as soon as the page it’s imbedded in loads was the smartest thing to do for my visitors or the integrity of the website in general. After all, there are these bots running around the internet and things that load automatically with webpages can start sucking down the website’s bandwidth, which the web host provider is going to want a few extra bucks for if it gets out of hand. So… Yeah… I’m going to have to keep an eye on that.

“And speaking of keeping an eye on things…” I do detect the presence of a freshly showered gorgeous creature standing behind me and I’m pretty sure that means she’d like me to join her in bed.
