There are some dreams that don’t take rocket science to figure out. Sometimes having a dream that revolves around your mom really only means one thing. “Call your mother.”
A dream involving avoiding the area of a cemetery where Yellowjackets are nesting while talking with a cousin you have never met, or hardly know? Well… In my book that means, “Avoid getting dragged into ancient family bullshit.”
I don’t know of any problems looming on the horizon as of yet. But… The dream was clearly a warning that something is pending involving extended family, which I can avoid, like I did the bees in the cemetery.
So, after a glorious awakening with Julia I gave Mom a call while Julia delt with a few emails and stuff she needed to catch up on in her study. Mom’s doing pretty good and really looking forward to doing something along the lines of the Boston Marathon in the near future. She’s got a personal trainer she’s happy with, which is a big help when getting ready for an event like the Boston Marathon. So, “It’s all good.”
Julia And I hit the Hampton Diner for a mid afternoon lunch, despite the heat. And… Once we got home and had taken a shower together… Well… I put my feet up for a few minutes, stretching out naked on the bed, and two hours or so had past before I knew what had happened.
“I think we might have over did things just a little in the heat today my love,” came a soft voice in my left ear when I had opened my eyes again. “How did I get covered?” I asked, feeling and sounding stoned.
“I covered us both up with a blanket from the closet,” she giggled. “I’d have tucked you in properly, but I don’t have your brawn. So, I improvised,” she said playfully.
“Are you ok?” I asked. “Yes,” she replied. “I only slept for about an hour but… When I saw what you looked like when you laid down…” She then kissed me gently before continuing, “I figured I’d keep you company.”
“You mean keep an I on me,” I said quietly. “Thank you. I didn’t mean to give you a fright. I just felt like I couldn’t keep my eyes open all of a sudden.”
“That’s how it was for me for a little while, too,” Julia said. “It was just a little longer in coming for me. But… Aside from your obvious headache… To coin a phrase from someone I know well and love truly, deeply and madly… ‘It’s all good’.”
She then slipped out of bed, through on a bathrobe saying, “I’ll be back.” When she returned, she handed me a fruit salad saying, “This might help you a bit.”
I nodded my appreciation and sat up to eat it. She sat down beside me with her fruit filled cup and suggested we call it an early night. So… That’s what we did.
Of course, I did wake up a little while ago and figured it was a good time to write this entry; Julia clearly too far into dream land to miss me at the moment. So, here I am, for now and… Well… Now I’m gone again, “Until next time!”
